The Lake District National Park (also known as the Lakes) is situated in the North West England and is a popular tourist spot. Having said that, on your expedition you will be heading into the hills and off the beaten track.
Your expedition will start in Keswick. Catch the train to Windermere (changing at Oxenholme) or Penrith. From here, busses to Keswick leave roughly every hour and the bus journey takes about 30 - 45mins.
The Lake District is famous for its spectacular mountain scenery with lakes, fells and green, forested valleys. You will be using mostly well defined paths with some uneven and rocky sections. Look out for Scafell Pike (978 metres), England's highest mountain.
You will be staying at a bunkhouse for the first two nights. Whilst on expedition, you will be camping at basic campsites and will spend one night wild camping in a stunning location (weather permitting).
