The Brecon Beacons is located in South Wales and was designated as a National Park in 1957. It is also an International Dark Skies Reserve, meaning it has very little light pollution at night.
Your expedition programme will start at Brecon Beacons YHA near the village of Libanus in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. From Cardiff train station, catch the TransCymru bus (T4 to Newtown) and get off at Llwyn y Celyn (YHA Brecon Beacons).
Rolling, green hills with mountain ridges and lush valleys used as farmland. Look out for wild ponies and enjoy some of the best star gazing the UK has to offer.
For the first two nights you will be staying in a local YHA or bunkhouse. Whilst on expedition you will be at basic campsites and farm sites. There is one night of wild camping on this expedition, weather permitting.
