Days of Adventure!
We aim to create days that are full of nature, creativity, laughs and a firm sense of freedom. Days are designed for young people aged 5 - 11 years old and are led by experienced outdoor instructors.
Adventure Days will be spent exploring different environments and activities from a beautiful location on the edge of the Peak District National Park. With endless opportunities for adventure and activities abounding on the doorstep, we're all set to go.
Sessions run from 9:30am - 4:30pm each day during spring and summer. Winter sessions run from 9:30am - 3:30pm due to reduced daylight hours.

What to expect
This isn't just daycare! Children who join us will develop an appreciation for our outdoor spaces, they'll learn new skills and build confidence, independence and resilience. All while having the best time with their team of fully qualified outdoor instructors.
Focus: Each day has learning and exploring at its core but brought with fun, enthusiasm and excitement for experiencing the natural environment in different ways. National Curriculum Key Stage themes and functional skills are embedded throughout to maximise personal development. Participants won't know - they'll be having too much fun!
Activities: Sessions are run by experienced outdoor instructors and we take learning through play and adventure seriously - a number of our team are also qualified primary and secondary school teachers, so you can be assured that your young people are in good hands both from a safety and learning perspective. Each week we'll enjoy a selection from the following activities:
Camp fires and fire building, den building, woodland crafts, building zip lines and rope swings, tree climbing, forest art, camp stove/camp fire cooking, wide games, orienteering, pond dipping, geo caching, outdoor games, river exploration, wildlife and conservation activities.

Adventure for all!
Adventure Expeditions is a not-for-profit entity and we are committed to widening participation in the outdoors for young people of all ages. We love what we do and want to share that with you. Remember, you don't need to have any previous experience of any kind to join our Adventure Days - all we ask is that you arrive with enthusiasm to explore!
Childcare vouchers: Our application to accept childcare vouchers is in progress, and we hope to be able to accept these very soon. If you have a young person who is keen to take part, please get in touch and we will see if we can support you through our bursary scheme instead.
If you have any additional needs or specific requirements that you would like to discuss in advance of making a booking or joining us for a programme, please do call and chat to us. We are an experienced staff team (including primary and secondary school teachers) and can work with you to ensure that our programmes are accessible for you and meet your needs as far as we can.

Venues and Facilities
For the majority of the activity days and sessions we will use an outdoor venue on the Sheffield/Peak District border as a base for activities along with the surrounding areas that we will explore on foot from there. Covered shelters are in place in case of inclement weather (or the need for shade) but we will be outside for all programmes, adopting a forest school style ethos and approach, come rain or shine!
Wednesdays we might explore the area from the site on foot together in search of different habitats, creatures or adventures during the summer months and when weather permits. We will always aim to head out, but we don’t want to compromise on young people having a poor experience outdoors if the weather or conditions mean that we might have a better time staying at our base venue! We will always include breaks for lunch and snacks during the day so that everyone stays fed and watered.
Toileting and handwashing facilities will be available on site and full directions will be given for any off-site activities with supplies of hand sanitiser available at all times.
