Ready to rock?

Days are designed for ages 10 to 17 years and are split into two groups: ages 10 - 12 / ages 13 - 17.

Whether you are new to rock climbing or have previous experience and want to learn more, our friendly instructors are here to make you feel welcome and have a great few days outdoors exploring all that rock climbing, abseiling, scrambling and all things rope-related have to offer.

Come and join us to jam, layback, edge and balance your way up different climbs, scrambles and rocky challenges with the help of your team mates!

What to expect supporting image

What to expect

Whether you're new to climbing or already have some climbing experience (indoors or out), you'll be learning plenty of new skills during our rock climbing days.

We'll go through all of the key points to help you feel safe and excited about climbing on rock: learn how to put on a harness, belay (hold the rope for a climber to keep them safe), understand climbing calls (rock climbing signals) and move in different ways to complete climbs.

We also have lots of fun rock and rope-related activities to add in - abseiling, scrambling, ascending ropes and learning how to set climbs up are all popular sessions and great if it turns a little wet.

Where? Rock venues

We will take advantage of our instructors' local knowledge to visit the best crags for the weather forecast - we can find dry rock in all but the wettest of conditions! Full directions and information on drop off and pick up points for each day will be communicated to you via email or message beforehand so we can make the best choices of venue possible.

Being based in the heart of the Peak District, we are spoilt for choice with world-class climbing crags on the doorstep. Did you know that every year climbers come to the Peak District to experience the world-famous 'gritstone'?

Example venues include Stanage Edge, Burbage Valley, Millstone Edge and Lawrencefield and Curbar and Froggatt Edges.
