CPD and accreditation
AE runs a varied and changing programme of CPD for teachers, school staff, youth leaders, instructors and others working in the outdoors. All our courses are delivered by Adventure Expertise (the training and guiding arm of AE).

If you have a group wishing to undertake the same in-person CPD course, we offer the option of delivering a bespoke course at your site or other suitable location on dates to suit.

Adventure Expertise
Online courses and modules
To continue building, developing or refreshing skills, we are looking forward to bringing a select range of online training as part of our training and CPD offerings for teachers, leaders and instructors.
These are currently under development and we are excited to bring our outdoor training into your home or workplace. Courses are developed around either self-paced learning using various learning platforms and different forms of media, Zoom led training at set times online or a combination of the two - all courses ensure that you have access to our expertise to ask questions and engage in dialogue to get the most out of things.
Upcoming courses:
- Assessing risk and developing safety systems, policies and procedures for your organisation for adventurous outdoor activities: moving forward with confidence and less paperwork;
- Legal considerations for outdoor practice: concepts underpinning Duty of Care in the outdoors and how this can be applied to help you work, lead or develop safety systems with confidence;
- Teaching navigation and orienteering in schools: a toolkit of delivery ideas and methods for a structured approach and a blueprint for installing / updating an orienteering course on your school/organisation site including producing maps and resources.

NNAS Tutor Award
An accredited course to enable you to deliver the National Navigation Award Scheme awards to participants at your organisation. This course provides a structured approach and progression to your navigation teaching throughout the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards and is ideal for teaching navigation to students participating in DofE expedition training or outdoor activity clubs.

Bespoke CPD for groups
Choose dates and locations (where choice is available) to suit you for qualifications, training and CPD courses where there are a group of you from an organisation wishing to take part. Groups can be as small as 4 for some programmes to make a bespoke option more cost effective.
