Bushcraft & Wilderness Survival Skills Residential
Focus: This week is all about learning to be at home in the woods and giving you the skills to become more self sufficient. No previous experience is required and all equipment is provided.
Duration: 5 days, based at Harewood Yard just north of Leeds, West Yorkshire.
On day 1 you will be introduced to woodland camping, safety and considerations and behin to set up your base camp, including a canopied shelter and individual tarps for sleeping. During the week you will take part in shelter building, gain an understanding of human biological requirements for warmth and good sleep, fire lighting skills, making comfortable beds using natural materials, processing water to make it safe to drink, safe knife use, culmimtating in building a ground oven for a big feast on the final night. At the end of the week you'll deconstruct camp and leave no trace, and give a presnetation to the group on your experiences.

All residentials run by Adventure Expeditions are designed to bring individuals together to have a great time - our aim is for you to leave with new friends, great memories and new skills. Each residential has a different aim and focus for you to choose from.
We understand that joining as an individual may be daunting but you are guaranteed a warm welcome by our team. Previous residential groups have made friends for life and met up independently afterwards for adventures together.
Our residentials are open to any young person aged 16 to 25, and as such, accommodation may be shared with those who are both under and over 18. If you are undertaking the Gold DofE Award, your residential will fulfill all the criteria for the Gold Residential section but completing DofE is not a requirement to join us.
