The Duke of Edinburgh: celebrating his legacy

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award was designed and set up in 1956 by Prince Phillip, Kurt Hahn and Lord Hunt. The aim of the Award was to empower young people by supporting them to develop new skills, confidence, fitness and resilience. Take a look at this BBC news article for more information on the history of the Award.

Each year, thousands of young people take part in the DofE Award in over 130 countries. It is still the most popular youth achievement award to this day.

Adventure Expeditions has had the privilege of working with DofE Award participants on their expeditions and residentials - over the past 10 years we have worked with nearly 10,000 participants and see first hand how much each person can get out of taking part.

In celebration of the life and legacy of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, we have gathered some of your and our stories of how taking part or delivering the Award has helped shape you...

We'd love to hear from you should you wish to share any of your thoughts or DofE stories... please email us on info@adventure-expeditions.net with a photo of your choice and we will include it here for others to enjoy and read... thank you!
