Working with you

Our aim is to build lasting relationships with the schools and teachers that we work with. In working with us, we aim to make running your DofE expedition programme an enjoyable and stress-free experience.

Our expeditions are built on the qualifications and experience of our team and you can expect our full support and attention throughout. All school programmes are tailor-made to meet the needs and requirements of both you and your students. As a not-for-profit organisation, we ensure that the high quality of our programmes are balanced by their affordability and we use our bursary scheme to make our programmes accessible to all.

We care about the young people we work with and want them to experience a real, authentic adventure outside of their usual, busy and technology filled lives.

Transparent, affordable pricing supporting image

Transparent, affordable pricing

Our school expeditions range from very small to very large group sizes at all three levels of the Award. Our pricing structure is simple so that you know the cost of the programme from the outset - you will not receive a bill for any hidden extras or additions.

We charge £50.00 per person, per day for all UK expeditions at Bronze, Silver and Gold. This cost includes free use of all group kit which is of an excellent standard and well maintained - no wet tents that leak or first aid kits with bits missing to start your expedition with. If your school is able to provide group kit, we can reduce the per person cost accordingly.

Not-for-profit

One of the main barriers to students signing up to the DofE Award is the cost of the expedition section. Through our not for profit status we are able to turn our end of year profits into bursaries that help schools and individual students finance their DofE expedition section.

In 2022 we have supported 13 individual students with their DofE expedition and offered free places to students within school expedition programmes. In addition, we have reduced costs to schools and students by offering them free use of group and personal kit.

Locations supporting image

Locations

Adventure Expeditions operates throughout the UK and overseas - we have built a close working knowledge of lots of great expedition locations that we use to plan authentic adventures.

Alternatively, let us know what works best for you - our knowledge and experience means that we can be flexible in where you go and often there are fantastic natural areas on your school's doorstep which reduce travel times and costs, perfect for Bronze or even Silver expeditions. We always ensure that your expedition takes place within the type of terrain required by the DofE. All new locations are recced by our team in advance of your expedition taking place to ensure suitability and viability.

If you would like to offer something different and go further afield, we offer some fantastic overseas location opportunities. Each year schools join us in locations that take you 'off the beaten track' such as the Tatras Mountains in Poland and Slovakia, the Julian Alps in Slovenia and the Provence in France to name a few.

Quality, Safety, Experience supporting image

Quality, Safety, Experience

Adventure Expeditions is a leading provider of high quality outdoor programmes for individuals, schools and groups.

We are proud of the high level of qualifications and depth of experience through our entire staff team: from our office, to our instructional team and directors. All our instructors hold their Summer Mountain Leader qualification as a minimum but many hold higher qualifications also.

Our core instructor team and directors are qualified to the highest possible standard in the UK (Mountain Instructor Certificate, Mountain Instructor Award, International Mountain Leader Award). These credentials mean that we are able to work with groups throughout the British Isles (in Summer and Winter) and overseas with ease and guarantee you a warm welcome, wherever you choose to join us.
