Isle of Arran, Scotland OR Peak District National Park
Focus: Wildlife spotting, exploring, conservation projects, John Muir Award.
Duration: 5 days (Peak District & Isle of Arran)
As part of this residential, you will explore beautiful landscapes and your chosen location's flora and fauna. You will also work with local rangers on current conservation projects, helping to conserve and protect local biodiversity. All of the activities we undertake form part of the John Muir Award, meaning you'll achieve a very worthwhile certificate for your CV as well having great memories to take away.

John Muir Award
What is it?
A national environmental award scheme encouraging people of all backgrounds to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. Each award has four challenges to complete:
- Discover a wild place;
- Explore it;
- Conserve it;
- Share your experience.
What is the time commitment?
There are 3 levels of John Muir Award, the difference being the time commitment for each:
- Discovery Award - 4 days / 25+ hours;
- Explorer Award - 8 days / 50+ hours;
- Conserver Award - 125+ hours.
If you join us for your residential, you will be completing the John Muir Discovery Award.

Residentials for all
All residentials run by Adventure Expeditions are designed to bring individuals together to have a great time - our aim is for you to leave with new friends, great memories and new skills. Each residential has a different aim and focus for you to choose from.
We understand that joining as an individual may be daunting but you are guaranteed a warm welcome by our team. Previous residential groups have made friends for life and met up independently afterwards for adventures together.
Our residentials are open to any young person aged 16 to 25, and as such, accommodation may be shared with those who are both under and over 18. If you are undertaking the Gold DofE Award, your residential will fulfill all the criteria for the Gold Residential section but completing DofE is not a requirement to join us.
